Hello!
No, I haven’t stopped writing blogs, hehe.
Apologies for the unannounced long break that I had taken , but I was dealing with the most stressful time of the semester, the exam season, and then I went into recovery mode.
Ahm, the only thing that I can recall from the past month is the anxiety that it has caused me. The exam season comes with a lot of baggage and a few elements of it are fear, apprehension, restlessness , self-doubt and the most important of them all, the realisation of how fast time passes when you have to study a lot.
Exams come and go, they are tough for everyone but on different levels. Don’t you dare say, “it depends on how much you have prepared beforehand.” It does ,but still , I feel they have more depth to them.
I’m a panic button, that pretty much summons my entire personality and i will be honest, due to this, I have ended up screwing opportunities (and tests in my academic career). It has taught me the importance of being calm.
I generally get out of the anxiety – calm turmoil, but when I don’t, I end up harming myself in ways ( geez, just the normal things) like my appetite decreases , the constant thoughts of failure and negativity.
But, if I approach things with a calm mind, they turn out better.
When you approach things with a calm state of mind, you end up solving them no matter how bad they are and even if you don’t, you somehow have the ability to move on to better things and that’s what life is about. We are all stuck at some other point in a pendulum that swings between panic and calmness .
It’s better to hold that pendulum tight when it reaches the calmness point, otherwise, after a series of panic sessions, you will definitely go crazy.
To be calm, is to live in the moment. To live in the moment you have to forget the fear of the future and the ghosts of the past ( see, the art of moving on is so necessary)
Do yourself a favour and free yourself from all these thoughts, the fear of failing and the aftermath, or will history repeat itself or not.
It’s okay to make mistakes, screw up and have all the negativity in your mind , but it’s so important to overcome them. But it doesn’t mean the same things will happen again. Hence, it’s important to take deep breaths when you’re anxious while making any decision or doing any task.
Stop worrying about the future fam, we’ll be alright.
We’ll fall down, learn , fall again and learn again. It’s a cycle towards greatness. Trust me, it will be okay.
