Hi, it has been more than a week since I have posted anything, this was supposed to be posted a week ago, but something else caught my attention and I was kind of in turmoil, now that a part of that work is done, you guys have my full attention.
Around 2 weeks ago, I went to a school, not mine and not an ordinary school though. I went to a school filled with students who were talented, happy, cute, and whatnot! A school of students who are physically disabled and mentally challenged. I do not get the concept of these words and segregation, but I surely believe in love!
At first, I thought the experience was going to be simple and fun. We will interact with them, have a little fun, and will leave, but I was wrong, it was so much more than that.
A few of them could not speak, could not understand the conversations properly, could not walk, could not do the basic tasks properly, but the charm that they had, the most beautiful charm in the entire world- Their beautiful, beautiful smile and laughter.
Only if I could convey what my heart felt. I made tons of new friends, interacted, danced, sang, and helped them write their names with mine (my favourite activity) Those wholesome 2-3 hours, made my day.
I am a learner and the thing that I learned that day was pure happiness. Happiness that should not change no matter what you go through. It is not that I have achieved this myself, but I promise, I try every day and so should you.
Even though none of them was above 15 years old, I hope they know that they had the wisdom of an older person. The wisdom even I am not qualified to explain. My objective today is to tell you and make you realize how privileged you are! the small things in life, the small moments, you better start taking them seriously.
Life is tough, tough for everyone, but whenever you feel that it is getting out of hand, think about someone who is leaving their house at 4 am so that they earn money for their family, think about someone who wants to learn, but cannot. Think about those children who do not know what having their family’s love feels like. Think about someone who does not know what it feels like to run so fast that you feel you are racing the wind because they do not have properly functioning legs. Think about those who stand outside of schools looking at children coming in cars, wearing tidy uniforms while their mother fixes their hair and gives them a good luck kiss. Think about those who look at you while you gobble a full plate of street food. Think about someone who does not even have a shoulder to cry on or trust. Think about those who sit on roads with hope in their eyes when you give them a penny.
Having all these things seem ordinary, but honestly, all this is a privilege. A privilege, you will not realize unless you have lost it.
Fam, take a moment and appreciate everything and everyone in your life. Tell people you love them, life is short. Thank the supreme power if you are a believer, if not, just thank your destiny for a stable life. Be Kind.
Love above everything. 🧿❤️
