Take A Break

The number of people who have asked me about my sudden disappearance from the blogging universe is insane. College has sucked the life out of me and has drained me out, both mentally and physically and ironically, it is not even exam season yet. Writing is something I have always adored and the fact that I get to do and share this with you all makes me the happiest person on earth, but this happy person has lately been an A-grade nervous wreck and a procrastinator. Not because I do not want to, but because I am not able to.

Do you ever feel that 24 hours in a day is not enough? Damn, I have always felt this, but currently, it is hitting me even more. How am I supposed to study, do extracurricular, attend college every day, do extra studies, attend extra classes, eat, sleep, give time to my hobbies, and maintain a social and personal life?

Sounds like a nightmare? It is a nightmare! I am honestly not even exaggerating but there are a few more things I have not added above. Even if I cut down a few things in the long-drawn-out list, I still won’t be able to complete half of the tasks (grabbing the opportunity of using my blogs as a source of rant sessions) but I guess it is not just me, I can vouch for the fact that a lot of people, especially people who want to do everything in life for gaining new experiences give their entire strength till the perfection is achieved. You guys are my soulmates. I can relate to every time you wanted to drop any opportunity or leave your work and run away because you already had too much on your plate, but you could not resist because you’re a firm believer in “you only live once” and also the constant fight between you and your mind that compels you to think if you don’t gain certain experiences, you might fall behind in future. My friend, you should breathe.

Phew! Sounds like too much, not only on your plate but also on your mind. You know, I am a firm believer in hard work, yes, it is the key to success, but it does not and won’t ever matter at the cost of your peace. Fam, if worrying about the future is anyhow ruining your present, I think you should sit down, pause, and reflect for a moment. While you are reading this and you think that you are in a similar situation, on the count of one, take a deep breath, hold it for a second, and exhale. Come on, do it with me. Inhale……… exhale. If you feel that 1% relief, you will get what I am trying to say.

After struggling to complete every task on my to-do list and trying to cover almost everything, I have realized that running after your dreams is important, but forgetting about yourself because of the future, is not being fair to yourself. If you have a duty towards your dreams, family, and whatever situation you are in that you are sacrificing yourself for it, I am sorry if life is currently not kind to you and things are not going the way you want or you are not able to complete any of your targets. Hard work is important, but so is taking a break. No matter which age group you belong to.

There is virtue in both when you work and when you rest. Use both instead of overlooking them.

Worrying will take you nowhere and will eventually make your health worse, the five minutes you are not sparing for yourself will become five worse days with zero productivity.

There is no such thing as a time waste if it is giving you peace in this rat race. Well, nothing is under your control, so all you can do is sit back, relax, and give yourself some credit and your thoughts some time. Be thankful for what you have and take breaks because everything will work again; let a few things unplug for a minute, even you.

“Wasting time on ourselves” will be the next cool thing, wait and watch!

I am proud of the progress each one of you is making while fighting your battles. Don’t you dare think that you’re alone in this as long as you have me!

Send this to those whom you see working hard every day, after all, we only have each other!
